Make myself known

 Hello everybody,

I am Cheki Uden the first year student of B.Ed IT at Samtse College of education. I am interested in playing games especially in playing volleyball. And I like making new friends and learning.

I am from remote village called Daliphangma which is located  under Yangneer gewog, Trashigang Dzongkha which is eastern part of Bhutan.

We can get to Daliphangma village by a farm road that drives past Chakzam. Chakzam is the bridge right below Trashigang Dzong and is the tri-junction of the road that goes to Mongar, Trashigang and Trashiyangtse. And my village is located just about 2 kilometers away from gewog centre.

I have grown up at that remote village where I studied class pp till six at Daliphangma Primary School as a dayscholar. After that I studied my grade seven till ten at Gongthung Middle Secondary School as a boarder. And finally I completed class eleven and twelve at Rangjung Central School which is located under Shongphu gewog, Trashigang Dzongkhag.

Both my parents are from Daliphangma and earn living from farming and also to raise three of us which is my elder and younger brother. My elder brother he completed class 12 and right now he is serving as a dessup and my youngest brother he is just 12 years old and right now he is studying in class six at Daliphangma Primary School. During vacation I used to help them to prepare food while two of them were working. And sometimes I used to weave kiras when there was free at home.

    Good introduction to begin with your Blogging!

    In your introduction, explain where Chazam is in Trashigang. For the people who have not been to Trashigang, this will be helpful to know where Chazam is located. Say it is the bridge right below Trashugang Dzong and is the tri-junction of the road that goes to Mongar, Trashigang and Trashiyangtse.

    Check your abbreviation of Bachelor of Education in IT, it should be B.Ed IT. Learn to write the full form the first time you write such thing in your writing and then write the short form in the subsequent use. Also take care of the spacing between words when you write. Checking or reviewing your writing before sharing can help you address such issues.

    Your introduction would be more complete if you can say something more about your two brothers. Are they students or what do they do?

Unit 1 Reflection

The first unit of this module, Information and Communication Technology in Education , gave me a deeper understanding of the role of ICT in Bhutanese schools and society. It introduced Bhutan’s Digital Drukyul vision, the ICT Curriculum Framework for classes VII–X, and practical models for technology integration such as SAMR and TPACK. I also explored instructional design approaches like backward design and universal design for learning (UDL). These topics helped me recognize that ICT is not just a collection of digital tools but a transformative force that can shape teaching, learning, and even the cultural identity of Bhutan. One of the most valuable insights I gained from this unit is that ICT must be understood in Bhutan’s own context.
